Built on a family tradition
A third-generation contractor, Brett George is part of a family that has been active in construction along the California coast since the mid-1940s, variously as architects, builders, engineering contractors, developers and custom fabricators.
At age five, Brett was at work on construction sites, cleaning up scraps of wood at locations being developed by his father, an earthworks and paving contractor and general building contractor. When he was tall enough to reach the controls, Brett learned to drive a tractor and helped his dad with digging trenches and footings for house pads. As a teen, he learned how to dig utilities, install septic tanks and grade roads.
In 2008, after completing a Bachelors of Science degree at Cal Poly–San Luis Obispo, Brett carried on the family tradition, founding Brett George Company to serve Monterey and surrounding areas. The firm provides optimal earthworks and construction solutions in difficult terrains for estates, commercial and residential developers, vineyards, orchards, land trust companies and municipalities throughout the Central Coast.
